I am moving from florida and it is the law here. I was just wondering. Also, what is the penalty if you get caught without insurance?

seat belt laws and insurance laws. I understand that they lower rates for everyone but what if people don’t want to utilize any of them. Isn’t the choice to use them a lifes choice similar to Abortion. I am aware how different they are but it is still about choice and freedom. In my opinion people have twisted the constitution in both directions to take freedoms away.

My question is why is it they don’t send you a certified letter to tell you that you need to have your insurance monitored for a year. They just mail out a letter and hopefully you get it. Because if you don’t, your liscence is suspended, without notification. And you get thrown in jail, like you commited a murder. How do you go about changing the law to where they HAVE to send you a certified letter.
I just want to know why the state can’t take a little bit of precious time to send a certified letter. I have complied with the law and ALL they asked of me. Why can’t they do what I ask of them?? The state works for us not the other way around. And should you pay for a mistake for the rest of your life? Even hardened criminals get a second chance.
And I have not moved in the last 6 years. My address has been the same for that long. But I didn’t receive a letter.
