Hear out these two big differences before answering:

1) You can lawfully not have car insurance if you don’t drive. The only way you can lawfully not have health insurance is by committing suicide (which to me sounds counter to the point of requiring health insurance)

2) Mandatory car insurance is so that you can pay someone else if you damage their property. Mandatory health insurance only protects the individual from him or herself.

Can anyone reason with these dems before they throw this rights-squashing law on us?
To Wayne C: I mean, that you dems seem to be legislating the right to live because everyone would have to have health insurance under Edwards’ program. They couldn’t lawfully choose against it if they wanted to. You can lawfully choose not to get car insurance by not driving. Driving is a privilege not a right. Life is a right, it should not be considered a privilege

iowa passed a law for dependent health care under parents health insurance plan that you don’t have to be full time student and still be covered up to the age of 25. My company is in Iowa and the corporate offices are in New York

I read a previous thread suggesting MediCare, but I am not talking about HEALTH insurance. They only have term life insurance tied to current job, and they need to retire. They have no burial policy, and each is worried about leaving the other with burial expenses and debts. I have seen a few ads online, but when you get to the fine print, they seem mostly like scams. They probably wouldn’t get a very good rating if a health exam were required. Probably $15 -$25K max would be the amount needed. They live in Texas if that matters.

My son who is in the military, insurance was cancelled inNC. But his car is registered in NC. He is stationed in Kansas, and has his car with him there. The Insurance company said that while he was stationed there he would have to move his insurance there. If it is still registered here and pays taxes on it here then why does he have to insure it there.

Hi folks,

I got some questions about the car insurance laws in TX:

1. Does insurer require to buy Personal Injury Protection (PIP)coverage?

2. My wife has health insurance and i don’t have it, but when we buy car insurance, the quote is automatically for both drivers. So, how come i let them know if i want to be covered with PIP, but my wife doesn’t need it?

3. Is that worth to buy PIP since the insurer can’t claim PIP if he/she has already have UMBI coverage claim?

4. If Texas law requires an insurer to buy PIP, what the minimum PIP is allowed by Texas state?

Why come Florida doesn’t require bodily injury liability. I recently post a ? yesterday found out it was Florida instead of GA. Now my uninsured motorist got to take care of my wife injuries and he get off easy. They provided us a rental car and pay us for our loss car but nothing else. So I guess anyone who lives in Florida could hit onyone and get away with it. I was wondering if the insurance company has anything else where I could filed this clam under.
Does uninsured motorist insurance pay for pain and suffering
