My car was parked, and someone in a stolen vehicle smashed into it and pushed it into my GF’s car and her car got pushed into my roommates car! When i got outside they had already ran! Should the owner of the stolen car’s insurance cover it?

My mother, who lives in Florida, wants to buy a new car for me before I start commuting for school again. The vehicle I have now isn’t very reliable anymore, to put it nicely. My mother’s credit is impecable. Her Beacon score is over an 800. My credit is extended and although not bad, not nearly good enough to get the same deal she can on APR. So, the dealer has suggested that she buy the car outright to take advantage of the low APR. Adding me to the loan will not benefit her, at all! Problem is, NC has a “Straw Purchase” law. Now Im not sure what the exact contents of the law are, but I know it means that one person is not supposed to buy a car for another. Also, there is a law in NC that the vehicle insured, has to be driven by AND registered to the same person. So, I cant insure a car that my mother bought for me. And in NC, a dealer can’t sell you a car unless you have insurance! How do I get around this?? I have to get a new car and my mother is not moving to NC anytime soon!

My fiance owns and insures a truck, in New Jersey. He let my sister borrow it and she got into an accident. She doesn’t own a car and doesn’t have car insurace, should my insurace cover that? Now they ( my fiance as owner and my sister as driver) are being sued 2 years later for physical damages. My insurance co, is giving the run around. Any info would be good.
There were no tickets issued at the time of the accident
I ment my fiance’s insurance!
The sheriff officers brought the summons yesterday! It has been a whole run around since the accident happened, they actually put my sister on his insurance policy, even though she doesn’ t live with him. The said well you let her drive your car, but they wouldn’t insure me and me and my sister lived at the same at the time. The summons came to my fiance’s father who owned the car at one time, but at the time of the accident didn’t own the car, and it seem that there isn’t an easy way to clean this mess up.
and the injury - my sister backed out of a parking space in a garage and hit the womens arm at 5mph. At the time she was calming my sis down, now two yrs later she has emotional distress bad qualitly of life limited mobility, and nerve damage.
MARVELBOY74 please read entire quesion before answerng.to be clearer… My fiance’s father gave him the car in Nov 2005. My fiance then registered it and insured it! in January 2006 my sister borrow an insured and registured car from my fiance and then had the accident! I don’t know how my fiance’s father got involved in the mess because he did not own register or insure the car in Jan 2006.

there are 2 major laws that seem to be causing more & more friction between police/politicians & free spirited motorcyclists.
they are the helmet laws & the noise pollution laws.
but instead of making all these rules & fines, what if there were to be a deal made out with insurance companies.
for I’ve seen commercials of a car insurance company (i believe it’s state farm, or all state, but nonetheless…) that offers rewards & such for good drivers. can we offer the same for motorcycle insurance? as in, there should be a mandated law for one to wear a helmet & to keep the sound of their hog or crotch rocket to a minimum, but instead say that if they do such things, the high cost of insurance might go down a bit.
or something of a manor of that, please tell me what you think, this idea is just in its rough draft stages. thank you.

Is it illegal to drive without car insurance? I have insurance on my car, it is just a pain because it’s so expensive and a waste of my money. My friend told me the state requires it and you could e put in jail if you do not have insurance, and I know illegal immigrants that do not have insurance that drive get away with this shit everyday.
